The role of the Patron

The patronage of the inaugural edition is an institutional relationship rather than a ceremonial one. The Patron lends standing to a Summit that is being founded rather than continued, and provides guidance on its international composition and its conduct.

For an inaugural edition, that matters: a new convening platform has no record to be judged on, and the seriousness of those who associate themselves with its founding is part of what establishes it.

The Patron did not found the Summit and does not convene it. The World Business Diplomacy Summit was established by Business Diplomat, which remains its founder and convening institution.

Minerva of Peace

Vedder's Minerva has laid her armour aside and holds the record of learning instead — the building's own argument for patronage.
